We’re looking for a team of like-minded people to join us to make this channel a success. Our Homegrown family is looking to hire people who have a passion for the entertainment business , who would like to grow together with us. We’d love to hear from you if you’re an: - Editor (able to work on Final Cut Pro)

PENANG ISLAND JAZZ FESTIVAL 2011

Set by the beach, mats rolled out with a chilled drink in hand, Bay View Hotel Penang was the perfect place to be last weekend at the 8th Penang Island Jazz Festival. From the 3rd and 4th of December, Homegrown Productions had the privilege to be in the home of the jazz festival, covering the LIVE event. The island was filled with people from all walks and countries, all down with one sole mission, to tune in to the fine harmony of jazz.

 
 

Anugerah Skrin 2011

Anugerah Skrin 2011 by TV3, is the premiere award show that honors the best of local television and Malaysian made movies. This November Maharaja Lawak was awarded with the title of this years Best Entertainment Program ‘Rancangan Hiburan Terbaik’. The series comprises of the finalists from all 5 Seasons of Raja Lawak coming together to battle it out for the ultimate title of Maharaja Lawak. We at Homegrown would like to thank all the fans for their loyal support, it means a lot to us and we are overjoyed to be able to bring laughter into your homes.

 
 

Maharaja Lawak Mega

Maharaja Lawak Mega began with 17 teams consisting of 41 of the best comedians across Asia vying for the top spot with comedians coming from Indonesia, Singapore and Malaysia. 10 LIVE episodes and 4 grand finalists later, it was down to the wire with Osbon, Boboi, Saehu and Syok competing for the title.
Syok (Suhaimi, Ifa Raziah, Ariff Sudin) from Singapore came in as third runner-up. Saehu (Eko, Bocil, Vicha) from Indonesia came in as second runner up, Boboi (Afdlin Shauki, Harun Salim Bachik) from Malaysia emerged as the first runner and Osbon (Mr Os and Abon) were knighted the ultimate Maharaja’s of comedy with a cash grand prize of RM350 000 along with a trophy to mark their success on this series.

 
 

Band Tv

Working together with RTM, Homegrown Productions worked on the National Marching Band Competition or better known as BandTV, a nationwide search for the best secondary school marching band in Malaysia. Together with hosts of the show, Moe and Illya, the search started with 41 bands from different states around Malaysia. With that number, 10 were selected to represent their states at the grand finals. Sekolah Menengah Sultana Asmah from Kedah emerged the victorious winner, capturing the hearts of the judges and audience with their accurate timing, brilliant performance and mesmerizing music.

 
 

Maharaja Lawak

After five seasons, Homegrown Productions worked together and brought all the winners of Raja Lawak together to compete for the ultimate crown of Maharaja Lawak. Groups ‘Sepah’ made history by being the first group to win Maharaja Lawak and were knighted as the best comedians of the country. The trio from Johor who remain at a normal position week by week shocked Malaysia with a glorious win at the finals.

 
 

Raja Lawak 5

Homegrown Productions entered its fifth season of Malaysian’s biggest comedy reality series, Raja Lawak. The show that has emerged as the top entertainment show on Astro over the last five years once again cracked up the panel of judges and audience with a fresh batch of jokes and jolly entertainment from participants Kumpulan R2, Kumpulan Balas, Nazmi and Epy just to name a few. Man emerged as the Raja Lawak season 5
